Infrastructure Engineer London / WfH to £80k
Infrastructure Engineer / DevOps (Windows PowerShell Infrastructure Virtualisation) *Hybrid WfH*. Are you an Infrastructure Engineer with a DevOps mindset looking to progress your career?
As an Infrastructure Engineer at this global financial software house you will join a newly formed Operations team responsible for the Managed Service platform (SaaS) with the primary focus of developing, maintaining and continuously improving the services, supporting processes, standardisation and availability. You'll be focussed on maintaining the core application platforms, mainly on-premise but with plans to migrate to the Cloud (Azure) as well as delivering on internal projects and carrying out BAU activities such as patching and escalated application / infrastructure support in conjunction with the development team.
This Infrastructure Engineer role will allow you to take ownership of projects from design phase through to implementation, documentation and knowledge sharing. You'll be an integral part of a highly collaborative Agile team but able to work with a high degree of autonomy.
Driven by technology this company is able to offer a remote interview / onboarding process with flexibility to work from home 2-3 days a week going forward; they have invested in a refurb of the City based offices to ensure they meet new health and safety compliance and offer a collaborative, modern working environment with all the latest kit.
Requirements:
You have experience in a similar Systems / Infrastructure / DevOps Engineer role with a good knowledge of Windows (and Linux ideally)
You have strong PowerShell scripting skills and a good knowledge of Virtualisation
You have a good understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and associated tools such as Ansible / Terraform; ideally also containerisation with Docker
You have a good knowledge of SQL principles and database deployments
You've had exposure to cloud based environments: Azure, AWS or GCP
You're self organising and able to take ownership of projects
You're collaborative and excellent communication skills
