The role

There's a lot that goes into business change at Clarks. Multiple project portfolios coordinating to make our organisation more efficient, more adaptive and, ultimately, more profitable. The digital nature of much of that change means that the IT department is at the very centre of where the action is. As IT Portfolio Process & Reporting Lead, you'll be the one orchestrating the whole thing. Stage-managing business change with your expert project planning and portfolio management skills so that we always know where each project is up to. Always analysing and reporting so that we can always get the best results as part of a coordinated effort.

Joining Clarks as IT Portfolio Process & Reporting Lead is a chance to play a key part in the decision making process at a world-leading business. Your resource management and project costing models will guide investment. Working with IT governance forums, you'll keep the whole organisation informed and up-to-date by ensuring project progress is documented. It's that meticulous reporting and analysis that keeps us on track. Are we putting our efforts into the right areas to get projects delivered on time and budget? Are we getting the results we expected? Are we mitigating risk? Is our progress as measurable as can be? Those are the questions you'll engage with every day - and the answers you come up will make us a more profitable, better organisation.

A bit about you

Coordinating project portfolios that touch on multiple areas of our organisation demands a natural collaborator. Someone who can work closely with the IT Portfolio and Change Manager and Director of Technology. Conduct regular governance reviews with Technology Project Managers, and keep stakeholders across the organisation ‘in the loop' with project progress. Communication is key. And a fluid, proactive approach to problem solving. That's because, at the root of our business change is a will towards modernisation. Away from regimentation and excessive administration and towards a smarter, more efficient and more measurable way of doing things. You'll embody that approach and you'll always be analysing the work you do, looking for a better way, and putting it into action.

You'll have a handle on every project and portfolio and will be keen to support project managers who will value your analytical approach. And you can always be relied on for the most accurate and insightful reporting, with data expertly presented using Microsoft Office products. That's where your experience shows - just as it does in your use of Waterfall and Agile planning methods. This isn't your first time working for an organisation the size of Clarks. Equipped with demonstrable PMO successes and a PRINCE 2 (or equivalent) qualification, you've got your own ideas about portfolio management and you're excited to put them into practice. That's what makes you perfect the perfect fit for Clarks.

About Clarks

Clarks, based in Somerset, England, has been at the forefront of innovative shoemaking since its foundation in 1825, when brothers James and Cyrus Clark made a slipper from sheepskin off-cuts. At the time it was ground-breaking; a combination of invention and craftsmanship that's remained at the heart of what the brand does now.

In the Clarks archive of more than 22,000 pairs are shoes that have sparked revolutions and defined generations. From the original Clarks Desert Boot, first designed by Nathan Clark and launched in 1950 to the iconic Wallabee, each design has an instantly recognisable signature - a unique combination of craftsmanship and innovation that make it unmistakably Clarks.

Clarks is a global business operating retail, wholesale, franchise and online channels in over 100 markets worldwide supported by nearly 10,000 employees across the world.

The benefits

We've already told you about the degree of flexibility you'll enjoy as a valued addition to our business - but that's just the start. As well as development opportunities, pension and a competitive salary, you'll also enjoy a variety of other benefits. And, as everyone loves new shoes, you'll also get a very healthy discount on our products.
