An established family run business with 4 sites across the UK, based out of our Northamptonshire site, we are looking for an Assistant Buyer to bolster the procurement team and support our Head of Buying. For an established and experienced professional, this role will likely develop into a full Buyer position.
 
BASIC SALARY: £30,000 - £35,000

JOB DESCRIPTION: Assistant Buyer, Procurement Assistant : Farming, Baking, Milling, Agriculture, Food
 
The primary focus of this Assistant Buyer role is to support the procurement function throughout the businesses.
 
Key elements of the role will be:
· To assist in the procurement and subsequent delivery of domestic and overseas raw materials
· To liaise with suppliers and other team members to ensure adequate stock holding and inventory
· To manage the sales and execution of co-products
· To chart and analyse demand trends ensuring the departments purchasing strategy remains appropriate
· To build and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers
 
PERSON SPECIFICATION: Assistant Buyer, Procurement Assistant : Farming, Baking, Milling, Agriculture, Food
 
Ideally, you will be an experienced procurement specialist working in a manufacturing environment.
 
However experienced administrators with exposure to buying/purchasing who wish to develop their skills and use their exceptional attention to detail in a different role will be considered.
 
· We would be delighted to receive applications from purchasing professionals with experience of working in a manufacturing business.  
· We would also be keen to receive applications from candidates with a strong interest in logistics/purchasing/buying/category management and strong experience in general administration.
