LOCATION: Home based and mainly covering the South of the UK - ideally youll be based in the Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire area.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Service Engineer, Field Service Engineer, Multi-Skilled Engineer : RFID, Vehicle Electronics, Telematics
Our cutting-edge technology is a legal requirement on many service vehicles. Your task will be to install and test our RFID systems, weighing equipment and telematics systems on clients brand new and existing fleets of HGV vehicles.
Home-based, mostly covering the South of the UK youll work a sensible week. Travel to the client is included within your normal working hours, so no ridiculous early starts. Also, youll typically only cover 1-1.5 calls per day, which we try to keep as local to you as possible, so youre not spending your life on the road. There will be times when you do need to travel further afield and stay overnight, but we plan well ahead so therell be no surprises.
The role will be incredibly varied including:
· Installation, repair, calibration and testing of RFID & telematics systems and weighing equipment on existing HGV vehicles, in the field and at customer / OEM sites.
· Installation, commissioning & training of new systems on new vehicles.
· Provision of technical telephone support to customers.
Youll also be responsible for accurate completion of all necessary documentation, maintaining your vehicles spare part stock levels and advising customers when system / technology improvements could be made.
PERSON SPECIFICATION: Service Engineer, Field Service Engineer, Multi-Skilled Engineer : RFID, Vehicle Electronics, Telematics
To apply for this position you MUST be a time served, electrically or electronic biased Service, Field Service or Multi-Skilled Engineer and have some form of equipment calibration experience.
You will also:
· Be educated to NVQ level 3 or higher and a life-long learner.
· Be willing to work indoors and outside, in all weathers.
· Have a full driving license and be willing to travel throughout the UK including occasional overnight stays and training trips to Germany.
In particular any automotive electrical systems and / or electronic systems experience would be an advantage, as would a forklift license.
Were looking for people who love to learn and well fully invest in your training. Once youre up and running this will be stand-alone role, so its important that you are self-motivated and able to work independently. Youll need excellent problem solving & trouble-shooting skills with the ability to think on your feet.
