This is a key role within the business; you will work with Product Managers, Designers, Engineers and other Business Stakeholders to understand the vision and bring it to life in the most valuable way. You will create user stories, groom, populate and own the backlog, take account of user insights and market demands, report on product performance and assist in the development of new product propositions. Your focus will be working with an Agile squad on products and Proofs of Concept using all the technologies Digital Catapult works on. You will apply your product management skills and experience to a range of Digital Catapult projects which include future networks (IoT and 5G), Immersive, DLT and Artificial Intelligence. This is an opportunity to work within a fast moving and ambitious organisation working at the forefront of some of the latest digital technologies.

What You'll Do

Take overall responsibility for the success of your products.

Liaise with Product Managers and other stakeholders to manage product lifecycles including product definition and creation, requirement gathering, user testing, market testing, go to market strategy and business justification

Work closely with other teams within Digital Catapult to maximise awareness of the products and services in the market and to ensure that the Business Development team has everything that it needs to generate new commercial opportunities

Be a true evangelist for application of user insights in the whole product lifecycle

Play an active role in the definition and execution of our product strategies

Enhance practices and processes to collect and report on management information relating to the performance of our products

Speak at external events, conferences and meet-ups to promote and evangelise about the technology as well as the products and services

What We're Looking For

You must have previous product ownership skills and experience across the entire product lifecycle particularly in creating detailed requirements, and delivering and managing successful products in a business to business environment

Strong analytical approach to product definition and development, applying user and market insights to define product requirements and help prioritise product backlog

Proven experience of Agile project delivery and use of Agile related software such as JIRA and CONFLUENCE

Experience with managing various levels of stakeholders, working in a matrix environment (UX, Marketing, Engineering and Business Development)

Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) with ability to simplify, present and communicate effectively complex ideas to a wide range of stakeholders such as end users, the development team, senior management and external organisations

Have a good understanding of our current technology focus areas and the potential use of them

Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal skills and being a great team player are important to us as well as the ability to deal with projects that at times can be ambiguous

The ability to work effectively as part of multifunctional teams and to balance different business needs to achieve defined outcomes

Passion for innovation and advanced digital technologies

Outstanding organisational skills and a good understanding of innovation methodologies

Strong time management and prioritisation skills with the ability to keep track and remain informed across multiple topics
