Job Title: Front End Engineer

Location: London wall, Central London (near Bank / Moorgate / Barbican / St Pauls).

A great opportunity has arisen within the Consumer Servicing team for a Front-End Engineer. You'll be a confident, highly motivated and with a passion for working with people, working in a strong collaborative way to drive efforts to create, build, support and improve our Front-End software, also working closely with the product and engineering teams with lots of exciting new challenges. You'll be a core contributor to ensure good quality and engineering practices are followed in accordance with engineering transformation strategy.

What you'll have

As a Front End Engineer for Consumer Servicing will need to be able to display the following qualities: A "can-do" attitude, capability of bootstrapping projects, and ability to effectively work with multi-disciplinary, internal, and external distributed teams across the project lifecycle.

What we're looking for

You should be highly experienced in using

JavaScript (es6/es7)

React - Redux

HTML/SASS

Node

Jest/Enzyme

REST to build scalable single page apps and reusable components.

You're passionate about technology and writing clean, maintainable & performant code.

We'd also welcome the following experience

Vue

TypeScript

Jenkins

Docker

CI/CD

Additionally, an eye for design/UX and passionate about improving customer experience.

What you'd be doing in this role

Contribute to design of features

Prototyping and development of reusable components and customer facing applications

Writing test scripts, code reviews and technical documentation

Contribute to continuous improvement of shared code libraries and collaborate with other technology teams

Participate in the agile process to produce rapid delivery of customer features

Understand and apply industry best practices, foster knowledge sharing to provide solutions for complex business problems where no precedent may exist and ensure implementation of solutions where appropriate

You'll also mentor and develop more junior engineers, providing clear and constructive feedback and building opportunities for learning and growth; and relentless focus on delivering business value through sound engineering methods and principles.
