Start Date: ASAP, following assessment centre The Organisation NHSX is leading the largest digital health and social care transformation programme in the world. With investment of more than £1 billion pounds a year nationally and a significant additional spend locally, NHSX has been created to give staff and citizens the technology they need. NHSX brings together the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHSE/I) who will deliver the Health Secretary's Tech Vision, building on the NHS Long Term Plan. We will speed up the digital transformation of the NHS and social care. We have set ourselves five missions, which are focused on how we can make things better for patients and staff. These are to: reduce the burden on our workforce, so they can focus on delivering care; give people the tools to access information and services directly, so they can best take charge of their own health and care; ensure information about people's health and care can be safely accessed, wherever it is needed; aid the improvement of safety across health and care systems; improve health and care productivity with digital technology. The Role The Project Coordinator will act as one of the key points of contact for all programmes and projects in NHSX as well as external stakeholders. They will work on daily assurance activities, the provision of advice and guidance to programmes and projects and reporting within the Delivery Hub, the strategic office responsible for the oversight of all NHSX's work and the Technology Transformation Portfolio. Additionally they will support and take ownership of a vast array of critical pieces of work. This role will provide a unique opportunity to understand programmes and projects, assurance and oversight at various levels, ranging from small projects to large national programmes. They will gain significant experience in the full lifecycle of programmes and projects, governance at an organisational level, reporting and an understanding of strategic oversight. The Project Coordinator will work as part of a dynamic team to: Shape the delivery planning of the digital transformation of health and care Improve the planning and assurance processes throughout the lifecycle of programmes and projects Support the delivery planning of the portfolio of programmes and projects in NHSX Guide programmes and projects through the assurance and approvals processes for large scale investments Shape and develop new governance processes for overseeing the digital transformation of health and care Engage and manage the relationships with stakeholders in the NHS and arms-length bodies Be responsible for the development of operational processes and improvements to ensure robust coordination and alignment across the team Provide independent assurance of technology programmes to support delivery and value for money, improving outcomes for the whole health and care system Oversee the professional standards for Project, Programme and Portfolio Management delivery The Location This post will be located in either London or Leeds with occasional national travel. Initially the role will be virtual, moving to hybrid based working as we return to the office. Hybrid working will be a mixture of working in an office and working remotely, exact arrangements will be agreed with your line manager and based on business need and priorities. Please note however that because this is a training programme - there is a need for regular office based working The Candidate We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with a relevant degree or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in a specialist area, who has a passion for health and social care, programme management and its role in supporting transformation. The successful candidate will be adaptable, innovative, delivery focused, and be able to provide high quality of work in a fast paced environment. They will use their initiative, planning and communication skills to meet the needs of the Delivery Hub and the diverse range of stakeholders they serve, all while consistently role modelling our organisation's culture and values. Previous experience in health or the public sector would be an advantage but not essential. Skills and Experience The successful candidate will be required to possess the following skills and experience: The ability to convey complex information to stakeholders with different levels of knowledge clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing The ability to build and maintain good working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders across the health and care system Passion for programme or project management, financial management and/ or supporting change management processes An understanding of planning, monitoring and reporting and their purpose Ability to analyse and interpret information, evaluate complex issues and take action or recommend an appropriate course of action to address issues Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team, prioritising, taking initiative and developing productive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders from other organisations or teams Experience or knowledge of handling and safeguarding sensitive information and data The ability to work in a fast paced, complex and sometimes ambiguous environment collaboratively and with resilience The additional knowledge or skills will set you application apart An understanding of the role of digital, data and technology in health and care and its transformational capabilities In depth knowledge of the processes and methodologies used in portfolio management An appreciation of the role of strategic management in achieving whole system change If you are interested in the opportunity then please apply by uploading your CV and write a cover letter of no more than 1000 words, detailing what skills and experience you can bring to the role.
