Senior Technical Buyer A great opportunity to work in a leading-edge technical engineering company with amazing products in a highly desirable industry. Key Responsibilities Main duties and responsibilities:
Researching sources of supply for current and prospective products to minimise supply chain risks.Substitution of BOM parts for lower cost/improved service based on global sourcing.Negotiating optimum terms and conditions for all possible BOM components and equipmentCreating and managing supplier agreements, including liaising with internal and external stakeholders to determine requirements.Ensuring MRP system is maintained and up to date (e.g., ensuring correct supplier part numbering)Support Operations with purchasing of routine BOM parts to meet production plans.Ensure obsolete component exposure is minimised.Co-ordinate quarterly performance reviews of key suppliers and manage improvement plans.Perform supplier audits in line with the Quality Management System (QMS)Estimate production costs and lead times and maintain this information in ERP system. Skills Knowledge and Expertise Qualifications:
Professional procurement qualification (CIPS), or equivalent experience (desirable)A relevant degree (STEM preferred), or equivalent experience.Experience:
Proven track record of buying in a technical production or engineering environment.Good knowledge of MRP and ERP systems - Microsoft Dynamics NAV an advantageGood broad knowledge of engineering materials, mechanical components, PCBA etcBackground in the Medical Device or other highly regulated product sector (desirable) Skills:
