Senior Software Engineer Location: Macclesfield, Cheshire Salary: Competitive, D.O.E Contract: Full time, permanent About Us Due to steady growth, we require an additional Senior Software Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of 25 based in our Macclesfield, Cheshire headquarters.  We design and manufacture cutting edge robotic machines for testing printed circuit boards (PCB's) typically for 5G and next generation communication equipment. These complex products comprise electronic hardware, software, motion control, machine vision and mechanics. We have been established for over 20 years and are the world leader in this very niche market. We have a fun and friendly environment where the key objective is getting things done. About the role A Software engineer is needed for the expansion of our in-house software team. We will provide you with training and the support on our existing machines so that you can become a key software engineer for all our old and new system developments. The role is varied and interesting, ranging from developing cutting edge image processing algorithms, precise motion control routines, high speed electrical test control through to all-encompassing machine diagnostics. To fulfil this practical and 'hands on' role, you will be an experienced software engineer with at least 5 years commercial experience. You will also need to have a well-developed common sense and creative vision, to be capable of both working in a team and autonomously lead independent development projects. Essential skills: VB & C# (.NET Framework) Object Oriented Design (OOD) Ability to develop multithreaded solutions Experience in desktop UI development Experience in hardware interface programming Basic understanding of PCB and electronic circuits Desirable Skills: Experience with WPF Experience with C++ Experience in working with Visual Studio & TFS Experience with hardware integration - USB, TCP/IP etc Experience in implementing numerical methods, HPC and GPU programming If you feel you have the necessary skills and experience to be successful in this role, please click on apply today.
