Key Role Responsibilities:
Work with CIO and other Information Systems (IS) managers to define and execute strategic objectives for IS department
o Plan and facilitate a move to cloud based Data Warehouse
o Plan and facilitate a move to self-service business intelligence (Qlik Sense)
Set rules and guidelines for data lifecycle management, including data quality management and data cleansing
o Define data dictionaries and standardise data across systems/platforms
o Manage data inflight and address conflicts/clashes/errors
Work with the Business Intelligence Developers to make reporting available to all CMS employees through QlikView and Qlik Sense, with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
o Work with Scrum Master to ensure that scheduled and ongoing work delivers greatest return on investment
Work with Data Scientists and Analyst Team to create forecasting models that can predict future outcomes and provide remedial action
o Ensure that information is being derived from the data available, with a focus on insight to action
Manage a team of Data Scientists and Business Intelligence Developers, shaping their development plans, ensuring deadlines are being met and corporate policies and standards are being met
o Increase skill and knowledge levels in the Information Management team through internal training, external training and recruitment
Develop and maintain relationships with third party suppliers
Key Performance Indicators:
Quarterly objectives completed by self and team members
Service Level Agreements achieved
Essential Skills & Abilities:
5+ years experience in Data Science, Business Intelligence or Data Analysis
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
Strong knowledge of database design and dimensional modelling
Experience of leading a technical team
Confidence to maintain protocols in the face of business demand for ‘instant' deliverables
Confidence to have difficult conversations and ability to backup decision making with coherent reasons
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable Skills & Abilities:
Experience in many of the following areas:
Analytics platforms - QlikView /Qlik Sense; PowerBI; Tableau
Application development - Python; SAP
Database technologies - MS SQL; MySQL; Oracle
Cloud computing -AWS; Azure; Google Cloud
Process Automation - Abbyy OCR; Amazon Textract; Red Hat Ansible; UiPath
Personal Attributes:
You must be a team player. This is intrinsic to the way the Information Management department works: we rely on sharing information and ideas to develop each other and ourselves to optimise our service provision to the company.
You should also have a commercial mindset, which enables you to interpret the Return on Investment of the tasks and projects that the team undertakes. A keenness to learn and develop yourself, the role and other members of the team is vital.
You will need to be willing and able to travel to and spend a number of days at any of the company offices in the UK and Europe, typically 3 days per month (once COVID restrictions are lifted and it is deemed safe to do so)
