Site Reliability Engineer - Virtualisation SME

PAYE Umbrella: to £575 + 17.3% PAYE Uplift*

As a preferred and trusted recruitment partner to this international banking group for over eight years, we are assisting in the hire of a contract Site Reliability Engineer to act as a Virtualisation SME.

In this role you will take responsibility for the reliability and efficiency of virtualisation infrastructure through the delivery of common, repeatable tools and processes that greatly reduce the amount of toil the OS and DB Platform Operations team must perform.

A key skill here is Nutanix and there is a preference for anyone NCP certified with operational experience specifically in orchestration layer (Prism Central).

You will join a team that is responsible for the following (you do not need to have all these skills)

*ESX VMWare and/or Nutanix HCI

*Windows Server 2008 / 2012 / 2016 / 2019

*Windows OS Tuning Utilities and Commands

*Configuring Windows OS Systems for Optimal Performance

*Windows Clustering / High-Availability Solutions

*Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP and Kerberos

*TCP/IP Networking Protocols

*Networking, Storage, Database and Virtualisation Layers

*Container Orchestration Platforms (Docker / Kubernetes)

*Version Control Software (GitHub / Subversion)

*Configuration Management Software (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, SaltStack)

*Infrastructure as a Code Principles and Practices

*CI/CD

*Application Development using Agile and DevOps

*Operating System Security and Auditing Methods

*Security Hardening Principles in line with CIS industry benchmarks

*Data Security Governance and Regulations

*Inside IR35 (PAYE Umbrella): This contract is Inside IR35, and you will need to contract via an Umbrella company on PAYE. The day rate on offer is up to £575pd + 17.3% Uplift. The uplift covers Employer's NI (13.8%), Pension (3%) and the Apprenticeship Levy (0.5%) so that these are not deducted from your day rate. The total pay to your umbrella is £674.48.

This position would be suitable for those who have held the following or similar titles, Virtualisation Engineer, Virtualisation Specialist, Virtualisation SME, VMware Virtualisation Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, Senior Infrastructure Engineer, 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer.
