What you'll do

As Head of Product Delivery you will lead a team of talented data engineers, data scientists and visualisation experts who work collectively to deliver for product managers across the organisation. You will:

  • Have expert product delivery skills across multiple product lines
  • Work effectively with a range of stakeholders to manage priorities and ensure timely delivery of multiple projects
       •   Be required to coach and develop others to increase professionalism and performance
       •   Oversee the Product Delivery team, their roles, assignments, development, pay and performance
  • Manage hiring, development, moves and exits from the community, covering civil servants and contractors
       •   Line-manage senior and lead product managers
       •   Develop new capabilities to improve the performance of the Product Delivery function

  • Strategic ownership You can develop a long-term vision and objectives.
  • Product ownershipYou can start to define and create approaches. You know how to coach others. You can implement new ways of working. 
  • Life-cycle perspectiveYou know how to successfully lead teams through the full product life cycle. You can identify which tools and techniques should be used at each stage. 
  • Agile workingYou know how to coach and lead teams in Agile and Lean practices, determining the right approach for the team to take and evaluating this through the life of a project. 
  • Operational managementYou keep abreast of industry best practice and can cascade ways of working. You know how to make operations efficient. You can act as the escalation point for major operational issues and champion operational management across the community
