Financial Controller - Italian SpeakingManchester
£63,000 per annum
In conjunction with the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for ensuring all local compliance matters are met and you will lead the review of the finance reporting process while also providing key insights.
Responsibilities:
* To take an active role in both team and self-development
* To actively participate in driving forward best practice and to provide support and encouragement to all members of the Group Shared Services team
* Work in close partnership with the following stakeholders:
* The Group CFO, Group Finance and Group Commercial Finance teams, to keep them informed, monitor cash flow, drive cash flow initiatives, deliver on finance strategies and embed reporting that would enable in-depth analysis of business performance and an understanding of key business drivers
* The Group Shared Services teams to ensure good financial control, timely close of month end ledgers, good understanding of local GAAP requirements across all accounting areas and the preparation of monthly reports, including the Group month end pack and the Balance Sheet and Control Review
* Develop strong cross functional partnerships with various departments (e.g. Fuel, Merchandising, Operations and Maintenance, Payroll, HR, etc.)
* Support the specialist functions to develop commercial and operational understanding of key contracts to ensure finance accounting is in line with contractual understanding and commerciality
* Support the commercial team within the country finance team to prepare budgets and forecasts
* Provide financial planning and analysis support to the country finance team to assist in delivering financial targets, with a focus on cash generation and return on investment
* Focus on YoY performance and understand key underlying business trends to support continuous financial and operational improvement
* Challenge existing and develop new financial processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting, creating workflow efficiencies where possible
* Ensure statutory accounts are correctly completed and filed in a timely manner
* Ensure adherence to IFRS accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements across the different territories
* Ensure all local compliance requirements are met
* Review of monthly management accounts from trial balance to financial statements
* Maintain oversight of all country specific strategic projects (Systems Transformation, Audit, Finance Development, Financial Reporting)
* Oversee the effectiveness and efficiency of operational processes
* Ad-hoc projects as required
Skills:
* Fluent in both Italian & English
* QBE or Qualified through an Italian degree/qualification
* Proficient in Excel and SAP
* Shared Services experience is desired but not essential
* Previous Financial Controller / Finance Manager experience essential
