As Lead Infrastructure Engineer you will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and maintaining the network infrastructure, servers, and VM environment across the business. You will also participate in infrastructure-related projects both at a local and global level, including hardware upgrades, WAN deployments, and network architecture. Client DetailsMichael Page are delighted to be partnered with a leading manufacturing company, to support on the recruitment of a Lead Infrastructure Engineer.DescriptionWhat you'll be doing?As Lead Infrastructure Engineer you will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and maintaining the network infrastructure, servers, and VM environment across the business. You will also participate in infrastructure-related projects both at a local and global level, including hardware upgrades, WAN deployments, and network architecture. Key Responsibilities:System administration duties across a complex Active Directory environment, including permissions, Group Policy, DFS, and certificates.Maintaining and monitoring VMware vSphere environments and the underlying hardware infrastructure to ensure peak performance and minimise downtime.Develop and maintain ongoing documentation of systems and infrastructure.Backup and disaster recovery administration.Configuring networking equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.Administration of VoIP phone systems.Occasional travel (1/2 times a year) to remote sites for support and/or project work.Utilising monitoring tools to respond to system issues and automated alerts.Administration of the patch management processes across various IT systems.ProfileKey Skills & Experience:Advanced technical knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, specifically Group Policy and AD Certificate ServicesAdvanced technical knowledge of vitalisation technologies, specifically VMware vSphereKnowledge of inter-networking protocols as they pertain to routing, switching, AD, and vitalisationKnowledge of Citrix Netscaler and Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops is desirable.Strong written and oral communication skillsStrong organisational, interpersonal, and time management skills with a focus on customer serviceAbility to present ideas and solutions in user-friendly languageAbility to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environmentMinimum of 5+ years of relevant work experience, with a progressive focus on system administrationJob OfferSalary:£50,000 - £55,000Additional benefits:25 days holiday (Extra 1 day added on every 5 years)Yearly bonus schemeEmployer pension contribution
