If you offer a proven track record in programme and project management and delivering major transformation, this position offers an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in Dudley Council's plans for the future.

At Dudley Council we have a ‘one council' ethos that builds an effective and dynamic organisation which grows the economy and creates jobs, creating a cleaner and greener place and supports stronger and safer communities.

We are rightly proud to be the historic capital of the Black Country and, working with our partners, Dudley Council is also committed to looking forward and helping to deliver our borough vision of ‘Forging a Future for all'.

We are investing in transforming how the Council works through our Future Council Programme by building a dynamic and sustainable organisation, through developing our workforce, improving our service delivery through digital innovation and investing in our facilities to ensure they are fit for purpose.

As service lead for a new Programme Management Office, the postholder will play a crucial role within the newly formed Chief Executive's Office.

The purpose of this role has two distinct phases. The first phase will be to develop a corporate infrastructure including establishing a Programme Management Office (PMO), developing Programme Management Frameworks including business case methodology and appropriate governance and assurance processes.

The second phase will be to support the delivery of major programmes, directorate projects and corporate initiatives using recognised PPM principles.

We are seeking an experienced professional who can demonstrate a high level of credibility, integrity and resilience with excellent communication skills to build and sustain relationships up to and including Executive level and elected members.

The role will work within a wider corporate function that includes Performance Management, Risk Management, Engagement and Executive Support responsibilities and will play an active role in supporting all of these core functions.

Whilst experience of working within local government and awareness of operating in a political environment would be an advantage, we welcome applications from people with transferable skills that align with the essential criteria in the Person Specification.

Please upload your CV and supporting statement outlining how you meet the essential criteria in the Person Specification.
