Technology helps us operate more efficiently - finding new ways of doing business, and reducing costDescriptionTo lead the engineering effort to ensure effective development, enhancement and use of business intelligence, CRM and digital platforms - as a key enabler of better programming, better engagement with supporters, and more effective internal management.Reporting to the CIO, work alongside our Head of Service Delivery, Head of Business Architecture and Analysis, and Head of PMO to form a coherent leadership team for our Technology Department. Lead a team of 20+ cross functional development and test staff, contractors and vendors, including by: Providing technical expertise guidance and direction to solution design and deliveryLeading the technical community including any distributed and embedded in other teamsSetting an overall strategy and workplan for the team, and ensuring optimal deployment of resources to meet requirementsEnsuring the implementation of agile processes wherever appropriate and in all cases support engineers to participate in the methods chosen by projectsDriving positive, proactive engagement with the wider organisation, bringing engineering into the solution design and analysis activities, and driving "can do" "yes if…" behaviours Drive the vision, design and implementation of an effective platform strategy. Make this a strong and collaborative contribution to the Technical Design Authority functionoftheCIO. Lead and manage the execution and evolution of platforms - data, BI, digitalLead software and application developmentQuality systems and methodsLead engineering techniques including DevOps / release managementSet coding standardsOwn QA and testing methods, systems and environments Manage the development, documentation and enforcement of architecture and design standards and guidelines.
