Senior Developer - Node - Public Sector

Jefferson Frank is searching for an Node.JS Developer to work with a public sector organisation in Newcastle. This is a 6 month contract which is inside of IR35 via Umbrella. This contract is remote with expectation to travel onsite occasionally. The ideal candidate will be immediately available.The role will be based around developing IT system, utilising XP, and agile practices. You must be open minded and willing to learn new technologies.Skills and experience we're looking for:

Knowledge of and experience working with JavaScript (ES5)

Knowledge of and experience working with Node.JS

Knowledge of and experience working with NPM.

Programming skills in designing and implementation of multi-tier applications using web-based technologies.

Experience with version control tools.

Solid understanding of JSON and RESTful architectures.

Solid understanding of unit testing and at least, one of the most common JavaScript testing libraries like Jest, Jasmine, Mocha, Cypress etc.

Solid understanding on mocking frameworks.

Understanding of how to develop software using TDD and its benefits.

Experience with continuous integration.

An awareness of Agile practices.Desirable skills and experience:

Experience with Test Driven Development.

Experience working with TypeScript would be an advantage.
