Improve our support services so we can be our best.
Often in the public eye, the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) is an evolving public corporation. Essentially, we're responsible for shaping and delivering the regulation of nuclear safety and security across the UK. Because our job is so important, we need to be at our best. As an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Senior Project Manager, you'll create more streamlined support services - and a better ONR.
ONR is among a number of government departments (a ‘cluster') moving to a new support services contract. That means we need to define our requirements and make sure they're in line with those of other departments in our ‘cluster'. It also means we have a golden opportunity to review our existing processes including Finance, Procurement and HR transactional services. As an ERP Senior Project Manager, you'll advise and lead us through this major ERP/BPO change, ensuring we modernise and improve our processes.
In practice, that means collecting and articulating our requirements, co-ordinating possible solutions with the cluster, defining and quantifying benefits, producing a suite of ‘to be' process maps, embedding those practices across the business and delivering through people-focussed change management techniques. The goal? An end-to-end solution that will improve process efficiency and provide real business benefit. Collaboration and communication will be vital every step of the way. You'll be working closely with ONR's Project Board, Finance Director and HR, Finance and Procurement colleagues, as well as suppliers and senior figures within cluster organisations.
We're looking for a motivated project manager who's able to bring efficiencies. Keen to make an impact, you'll have a track record of delivering the fundamental business changes needed to adopt an ERP. You'll also be a PRINCE2 Practitioner (or equivalent), who's adept at project governance, assurance, reporting, risk management and tracing benefit realisation. With experience of business process re-engineering and large-scale change projects, you'll be a capable professional who can deal with people at every level.
We offer competitive salaries at the ONR, with this role attracting a salary of £65,619 - £75,665. Furthermore, you'll be eligible for a substantial Civil Service Pension scheme (including ill-health retirement and lump sum family benefits). Plus, you'll receive a generous holiday entitlement.
ONR is a Public Corporation with a Mission to protect society by securing safe nuclear operations. Our staff are drawn from a wide range of professional backgrounds with specialist inspectors to deliver our core business. We also employ professionals in support areas such as HR, Communications, and Information Technology whose role is to enable and support our regulatory functions.
