The Scrum Master is responsible for monitoring and progressing the Agile team's practices, ensuring that all Scrum events take place and are positive, productive, and kept within the agreed-to timebox. They support the team in adhering to Agile methodologies. They ensure that the team is performing continuous improvement that increases efficiencies while maintaining a high standard of quality. Essential job functions and responsabilties Responsible for ensuring Scrum is understood and the team adheres to theory, practise, and guidelines. Coach and train team members in Agile practices to deliver high quality products and services Recognise and act on areas for improvement in team effectiveness Remove impediments that will prevent team from meeting sprint goals and ensuring customer happiness Prepare, interpret, and act on metrics that demonstrate continuous improvement Develop and maintain necessary process documentation Work with the agile team, internal stakeholders to influence and drive decision making that support the organisational projects and products. Qualifictions and education Ability to facilitate discussion, decision making and conflict resolution
Experience applying scrum master, business analysis or project management techniques
Experience working effectively in globally distributed delivery teams
Scrum Master Certification preferred
Domain knowledge (especially in a publishing environment) preferred
Experience working in Agile (esp. Scrum) teams preferred
Knowledge of Atlassian tools (JIRA and Confluence) preferred Language, reasoning, analytical and mathematical skills Strong team leadership and coaching skills
