Data Analytics Engineer/Data Scientist

Farnborough or Malvern

A Data Analytics Engineer/Data Scientist is required by global organisation in either in their Farnborough or Malvern offices.

As the Data Analytics Engineer/Data Scientist, you will join a dedicated Data team, including Data Scientists, Software Engineers, System Engineers and Human Science practitioners. The workload will be for Defence, Security and commercial customers. The role will require you to provide solutions for cutting edge applications in AI/ML, DevOps projects, applications requiring models of complex systems and applications requiring Enterprise level integration of components.

Essential Skills for the Data Analytics Engineer/Data Scientist:Hold or be eligible for SC clearance and willing to gain DV clearanceHold a University Degree in a science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjectProven track record of working with data intensive projectsExperienced and open to working in a variety of domains and programming languagesSkilled in at least two of the following languages: Python, Java, R, Scala or C++Knowledgeable in Open Source techniques and toolingBeen through full software development lifecycle

Desirable Skills for the Data Analytics Engineer/Data Scientist:Experience of Agile or scaled Agile teams using tools such as Atlasian suiteHave worked with LinuxData Engineering tools and services for example: ElasticSearch, Hadoop, Spark, Solr, Salt/Puppet/Ansible, Accumulo, Kafka, MongoDB, Neo4J. Also Cassandra, Apache Storm, ZeroMQ,Worked in a DevOps environmentSkilled in System engineering design and implementationSupervision of less experienced technical staff.

Responsibilities for the Data Analytics Engineer/Data Scientist:Technical Design and implementation of solutionsWorking with customer technical representativesIntegrate Open Source components into micro services in both DevOps and prototype style
