Crawley Borough Council have embarked on a hugely complex portfolio of transformational change and development programmes. This includes the development of a new Town Hall, a major Transformation Programme encompassing People, Place, Process and Technology, a programme that aims to create a full Gigabit fibre network across the whole of Crawley. It also involves a drive towards commercialisation that looks to exploit our assets to make the very most from what we have for the benefit of Crawley, its residents, businesses and visitors.

Demand for fast, reliable and secure digital connectivity is increasing, as businesses, households and public services become more reliant on connected assets and processes. Crawley has embarked on a Gigabit fibre rollout with CityFibre across the Borough; this covers Council sites, council housing and will ultimately be available to all properties. This is vital to Crawley's economic prosperity and will support the economic recovery after Covid.

We need a Project Manager with telecoms and fibre rollout experience to manage this multi-work stream project. The Project Manager will be the main contact for the Council and manage all the internal deliverables and contacts with suppliers to ensure the smooth rollout of the dark fibre programme. The Project Manager will be responsible for identifying and researching opportunities for potential pilots and projects, exploiting new technologies and data that this new connectivity will provide; this will include working up business cases and options appraisals for procurements of potential ISPs amongst other pieces of work.

If you understand the way in which the rollouts are delivered, have strong project management experience and can exhibit the positive ‘can do' kind of attitude we're looking for, then we'd really like to hear from you.

We recommend that you submit your application as soon as possible, as we may close this advert before the stated closing date if enough applications are received.
