Reporting to the Head of Data Architecture of Digital Enablement, this major Charity are looking for Data Analyst / Trainee Data Engineer to support on BAU & future development of the organisations Single Data View data lake and other data led initiatives.Client DetailsMajor UK CharityDescriptionReporting to the Head of Data Architecture of Digital Enablement, this major Charity are looking for Data Analyst / Trainee Data Engineer to support on BAU & future development of the organisations Single Data View data lake and other data led initiatives. You will work with the current data team and wider organisation to implement a supporter-centric culture, driven by data. As your Data Engineering skills progress, you will work with stakeholders to maintain the operational integrity and expand the functionality of the data platforms.You will develop your skills around these key responsibilities:Using Analytical and Technical methods, undertake root cause analysis of issues relating to the SDV platform and other data based systems, recommend and present solutions to the Data Architect and other stakeholders. To enable the implementation of data quality controls, defect resolution and process change to the SDV ensuring that it remains operational and trusted by the organisation.Create Google Big Query/SQL queries, views, indexes and optimisations as appropriate in order to support the business as usual operation or development of its data platforms, or the wider data & digital strategy.Model data sources as required using varying techniques, Data Flow Diagrams, Entity Relationship Diagrams, Schema Mappings and DDL..Undertake Data Extractions, Transformations and Loading (ETL) as necessary whilst undertaking the role, using a number of techniques including API, SQL, third party tools or other methods as required or providing information to SMEs & Suppliers as necessary.Undertake Testing, Unit, Integration, smoke etc as required. Assist the organisation with its analytical requirements as they occur, development of data platforms and assistance with upstream & downstream data integrations.Work with Business Intelligence Teams to model data for visualisation purposes.Maintain and document changes to the SDV data layer in line with the roleDocument changes to other data integrations, ensure scripts and codes are backed up as necessary, and processes for utilising code are in place.Work with the Data Team and other stakeholders on various data related projects and activity across the Trust in a collaborative and positive manner.Work with internal stakeholders, on a one to one or team basis, in producing SQL views and transformations to assist in the production of reports and upstream or downstream system integrations to their functional requirements.Work with the Data Compliance and Data Selection Teams to help fulfil selection and segmentation needs Essential Skills: Experience working within a previous data focused role involving ETL / SSIS, Data Analysis, Database Management etc.A working knowledge of Microsoft SQL.Microsoft Environments and Applications.Experience using Data Modelling TechniquesExcellent written and verbal communication skills.The ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders and third party suppliers.Agile, analytical and logical thinking, root cause analysisAbility to self-learn through doing.Experience using and implementing Data Warehouses & Data Lakes.If you've got exposure to these skills it would be great:Working knowledge of Google Big Query.Scripting, in a high level language i.e. R, Python, C/C++/C#.Working with APIsKnowledge of application and system testingData Extraction, Transformation and Loading experience.
