Worldwide finance company are looking for an experienced Platform Storage EngineerJoin a fast-growing company who are expanding and looking for great skilled talentClient DetailsJoin a fast-growing company who are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable individual that has experience in defining, designing, and developing plans for installation/reconfiguration, and overall management of storage systems to provide reliable, resilient and secure data warehousing and management solutions.DescriptionPlatform Storage Engineer, London will be responsible for:To liaise with technical and non-technical entities directly and provide support to define requirements and deliver solutions to meet organisational needs including new deployments, upgrades, performance tuning and testingDesign, implement and maintain all aspects of storage, including the various tiers of storage (high-performance, low-cost, archive, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery).Multi-protocol [CIFS, NFS] file-based solutionsBlock-based high-performance All-Flash Arrays.Object-based storageDisk & Tape based backup solutionsImplement and utilise asset inventory, configuration management database, capacity management, performance management, resource optimisation, and security (access control, authorisation, and accounting) for all technologies in scope.Define requirements, perform research, evaluate vendors/solutions, design/implement solutions, and provide ongoing support for all technologies in scope.Perform consistent solutions for all hardware, software, configurations, and processesImplement tools and processes for efficient and effective operational management of the environment -- change management, monitoring, alerting, incident handling, customer request handling, etc.Participate in defining and executing on a road map of projects that continues to raise the bar through implementing innovative technology, tools, automation, and processes.Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to individuals across the organisationProfilePlatform Storage Engineer, London will be skilled in:A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Software Engineering5+ years of Linux/Windows Operating systems management and administrationExperience with Azure/AWS/GCSStrong knowledge of NetAPP/HP/Dell storage solutions, backup software, virtualisation, engineering, operating systems and administration.Excellent troubleshooting skills on the system as well as efficient problem-solving abilitiesExperience with storage protocols and technologies such as NFS, CIFS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, NetApp Filers, Pure Flash array and Flash bladeHad previous exposure to managing and upgrading backup environment and its scheduled strategiesExperience with client and server hardware/software, management tools, enterprise networking, virtualisation, and/or security technologiesConfident in automating tasks utilising PowerShell or Python.
