Research Scientist - Artificial IntelligenceCambridge, UKJob Description:This role is based at a global industry leader within their modern research facility in Cambridge. The Automation and Planning program is focused on developing symbolic and model-based approaches to AI, with an emphasis on the underlying physics models. The research of the group is early-stage applied research that is adopted into worldwide engineering solutions.Essential Responsibilities and Duties:Perform research into symbolic approaches to machine reasoning methods applicable to real world problems.Work with our experimentalists and scientists to develop physics-led solutions, particularly in the area of automationBridge the gap between the research and products by integrating new fundamental research into applied projects and identifying interesting business-relevant problems to research.Report and present research findings clearly and efficiently, both internally and externally.Actively engage with the applied research community, through publications and external conferences such as ICAPs.Qualifications and competencies:Degree in computer science or a related discipline highly desirable or equivalent industry experienceMSc in Artificial Intelligence or AI & Robotics would be consideredPublication track record in AI Planning and Scheduling conferences and/or journals is preferred.Solid software engineering skills for prototyping.5+ years in machine reasoning in an industrial or academic setting.
