The business have a vacancy for an experienced 3rd Line IT Support Engineer to join their small team, and cover both technical escalations at a 3rd Line level, and exciting hands-on project work.Client DetailsMichael Page are proudly working exclusively with this national brand, that are a household name within the FMCG space.With a head office near central Birmingham, you will join a brilliant culture of collaboration, and have the chance to operate independently, free from the headaches of micro-management, as you report into an IT Manager that prioritises the creation of a high trust environment.Technology is a central focus for the business, and you won't simply be providing support for end users, but you will be a key part in shaping the evolution of IT, as you work on technical projects.DescriptionAs the 3rd Line IT Support Engineer, you will join a small IT team, currently consisting of a Service Desk Analyst, a Desktop Support Engineer, and an IT Manager. This role will sit below the IT Manager, whilst also providing some mentoring for the Desktop Support Engineer.You will support the company's infrastructure estate, made up of approx. 20 physical servers and 70 virtual machines, running a mixture of both VMWare and Hyper V, within a Windows Server environment.The role will have exposure across Cisco networking, covering areas such as switch support and wireless configuration.Working in conjunction with the IT Manager, key projects will be a central part of the role, and you will get involved in server migrations, backups and Disaster Recovery, whilst ensuring you stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends that could benefit the business. In addition to the project focus, you will also act as an expert escalation point, helping resolve issues for the company's 250+ user base.This is a team-based role, and whilst it will have some remote responsibilities, the business are looking for someone that can be a part of the on-site team when needed, so you will ideally be based local to central Birmingham.ProfileAs the successful candidate for the 3rd Line IT Support Engineer position, you will be highly experienced in the below technologies:EssentialWindows Server 2012/2016.VMWare and/or Hyper V.Exchange 2016.Active Directory.TCP/IP, LAN/WAN networking knowledge.DesirableDynamics Navision 2019.SQL Server administration.Job Offer£32,000 - £35,000 Starting Salary.
