Linux Platform Administrator

Financial Services - 3 Month Contract

PAYE Umbrella: £475pd - £500pd +17.3% PAYE Uplift*

Currently Home Working, Later Central London

We are currently assisting this international banking group in the hire of a Linux Platform Administrator to assist in the maintenance, enhancement and strategic development of all database related technologies throughout the business.

The client is a global banking group, with their EMEA HQ based in London. We have assisted in the placement of over 100 IT professionals at this client and receive consistent positive feedback from successful candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

*Ensuring daily health and compliance checks are performed for all Production systems

*Make sure sufficient capacity is available to accommodate projected BAU growth

*Handle problem tickets and service requests with efficiency and the customer in mind

*Provide technical support and consultancy to application support and development teams

*Executing disaster recovery procedures when necessary

*Participate in on-call rota

Skills/Requirements:

*Knowledge of multiple database platforms including: MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Sybase, MongoDB

*Configuring Linux and Windows OS for optimal database performance

*Networking, storage, server and virtualization layers

*Backup and recovery strategies

*Database migrations and upgrades

*Clustering and high-availability

*Database security and auditing

*Data security governance and regulations such as GDPR and SOX

*Inside IR35 (PAYE Umbrella): This contract is Inside IR35 and you will need to contract via an Umbrella company on PAYE. The day rate on offer is circa £475pd-£500pd + a 17.3% uplift. The uplift covers Employer's NI (13.8%), Pension (3%) and the Apprenticeship Levy (0.5%) so that these are not deducted from your day rate.
