Network Infrastructure Engineer
Role Definitions
Main duties and responsabilties:
Monitor, respond to infrastructure and network tickets in a timely manner and own the call to completion, update the ITSM with appropriate and technical comments to a level that can be used for customer reporting.
Support the infrastructure including all aspects of the cloud, network, server, and storage estate.
Provide support to the other IT teams when required.
Perform routine maintenance tasks and ensure the monitoring of systems, acting to fix issues before they become incidents.
Ensure the infrastructure conforms to security guidelines and are in line with vendor best practices.
Create and update service documentation & diagrams.
Ensure infrastructure complies with the BCDR service agreements, has valid backup procedures in place, and that backups are maintained and regularly tested.
Act as a project resource and be an active part of a project team owning assigned tasks and reporting back to project managers, as required.
Escalate any unusual or unexpected issues to line management immediately.
To be part of the on-call rota, responding to client call as defined in the On-Call procedure.

Meet/exceed agreed support SLA's/KPI's with various customer contracts.
Ensures accurate and timely completion of documentation and support tickets.
Enjoys positive peer and colleague reviews, and customer feedback.
Adheres to change-control guidelines and ticketing processes.
Strives to complete set tasks within deadline as set by line manager / project managers.
Delivers work to a quality standard within the technical specification.
Working relationships and interfaces
Wider IT support function and Design and RPA colleagues.
ISR and SOC colleagues.
All functions across the business for resolving support calls, especially Operations.

Skills knowledge and expertise
Must have 2 years providing Cisco Network support.
Technical networking qualification (e.g. CCNA or CCNP) (Essential)
Expertise in fault findingresolution within a corporate environment
2 years' experience in an ITIL compliant support role.
Desirable to have worked on Cloud and virtualised server platforms.
Strong capabilities in following processes and documentation.
Adaptable to change and new requirements.
Eye for detail and quality.
Self-motivated, proactive with a "can do attitude".
Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
Desirable
Experience of some of the following: support (AAD/AD, AWS, Azure, Barracuda VPN, Censornet, M365)
