Backend Software Engineer London / WfH / Remote to £650 p/day

Backend Software Engineer / C++ Developer (UNIX Linux Agile TDD Python). Global FinTech is seeking a skilled Backend Software Engineer with strong, modern C++ development skills for a 12 month contract.

As a Backend Software Engineer you will help to support market data feed handlers and focus on a migration project which will involve moving from legacy Solaris machines to Linux, updating API's, utilising more modern libraries and re-writing code utilising C++ 11 / C++ 17.

Your role will also involve creating test suites, analysing source code for potential migration problem areas, performing the required code changes, as well as deploying the new code and communicating with affected stakeholders.

Driven by technology this company is able conduct an entirely remote interview / onboarding process and WfH during the current social distancing measures, in time (likely September) you will be required to occasionally visit the London City offices.

Requirements:

Strong C++ development skills with modern C++, you'll be using C++17

Experience with large, real-time distributed systems

Good knowledge of Test Automation, TDD

Ideally you will have experience with TCP, UDP, multi-cast and Python development experience
