Group Project and Programme Risk Manager

£70,000 - £75,0000 + Benefits Base location can be flexible A global defence company is looking to appoint an experienced Project & Programme Risk Management specialist to lead the development, implementation, training and continuous improvement of all aspects of project & programme risk management across the group's global footprint. In this highly visible position, you will ensure that the companies Project and Programme Risk Management approach is fit for purpose, meets the needs of the business units and group functions and is aligned to industry standards and best practice. By working closely with each business unit and group function, you will determine how risk management is progressing and identify areas for future improvement through annual P3M maturity assessments and subsequent roadmap. Responsibilities Include: Leading and influencing the development, improvement and implementation of project & programme risk management across the business.Being the recognised expert in project & programme risk management within the group.Providing advice and guidance to the Business Risk Managers, Group functions, Group Performance Excellence Director and the Group Director Risk & Governance as needed.Owning the risk management tooling, configuration & licensing and support its continued roll-out in the UK and internationally.Creating a vibrant and engaged community of risk management professionals within the business.Providing risk management assurance on major projects prior to offer release and other major reviews.Promoting risk management approach both internally and externally. Working with Project Management and other Project Controls disciplines to ensure a coherent, clear and joined up approach to the project management community. The Fit: The successful candidate will be a Project/Programme Risk Management specialist with a proven track record of scoping, developing, implementing and embedding risk management changes on a wide range of complex projects/programmes. They must be able to demonstrate a full understanding of Risk Management principles and best practice and how these can be practically applied in the wider project and programme context. You will have previous experience working for a complex organisation, establishing the organisations vision and direction for Project & Programme Risk Management and influencing others towards this common purpose.Practical experience in leading the development, implementation and assurance of Monte-Carlo models and interpreting the outputs (both cost and schedule) is essential. In addition, you will have excellent stakeholder management skills, comfortable influencing and challenging individuals at senior levels of the business to ensure the overall vision is achieved.
