This role will involve the coordination, management and analysing the reporting of availability of services and technologies on the organisation's IT estate.Client DetailsMichael Page are delighted to be partnered with a UK government body to support on the recruitment of multiple technology positions. As part of this recruitment drive, we are currently looking for an Availability Manager.DescriptionYou will coordinate, manage and analyse the reporting of availability of services and technologies on the organisation's IT estate.Inherent in this critical assurance activity, is a requirement to ensure that all service designs and contracts appropriately captures the business' need for availability. Having articulated the requirement for availability, you will monitor system and service performance to ensure that the requirements are met and tested.You will engage with Senior Stakeholders to determine the requirement and to review performance against the requirement, this role will conduct analysis into availability failure determining root causes and working with the capacity Manager and Problem Manager to provide mitigations and remedial changesAs part of your role you will:1. Lead the Availability Management Function and manage direct reports

2. Be responsible for the production and analysis of a comprehensive suite of availability management reports from across the Technical Operations function.

3. Manage the coordination of the reception, collation and analysis of availability management reports from contracted service (PaaS, IaaS and SaaS) providers.

4. Manage the consolidation of all reports in to a suite of Management Information (MI) products that will support executive decision making

5. Work with the Capacity Manager and Problem Managers to analyse availability reports, determining root causes and providing recommendations to mitigate or change poor performance.

6. Engage with Senior Stakeholders to determine Availability requirements for new services and components, ensuring the requirements are incorporated into service designs and contracts.

7. Work with the Enterprise Architecture and programme delivery communities to ensure that service design and contract tendering incorporates business availability requirementsProfileEssential skills
