Do you have experience producing engineering calculations?This company are a small, well established manufacturer who specialise in the design of highly bespoke structural support products used across the construction sector. They place a strong emphasis on providing bespoke solutions rapidly, but also produce a wide range of standard products, and all items are manufactured to order on site. Over the past 20 years, they have remained at the forefront of this specialist industry by continually adapting to the changing market and they are currently looking for a proven Design Engineer to join their team.This role lends itself to a Design Engineer with a passion for engineering solutions that are practical to implement - strong design ability and mechanical aptitude are essential. You will receive plenty of support from the current MD to become an industry expert and the idea is for this role to become actively involved in the management of the business, contributing to, or even driving production improvements, new products, new marketing material and new services for customers.This is a fantastic opportunity for either a Structural or Design Engineer to take on a new challenge within a highly specialist sector where you will have excellent scope to progress your career.The Role:

* Structural / Design Engineer

* Involved in both new / existing product design

* Liaising with manufacturing / production

* Lots of support to become industry expert

* Opportunity to become actively involved in the running of the business when current MD retiresThe Person:

* Proficient in AutoCAD

* Familiarity with standard ISO or BS engineering drawing principles and practices

* Confident producing first principle engineering calculations

* Proven ability to present calculations done to codes or standards (Eurocodes)

* Working understanding of engineering fasteners, specification thereof and associated calculations

* Sound understanding of material properties, ideally steels, including: mechanical, corrosion & thermal

* MS Office proficient, including Word, Excel and Outlook

* Excellent communication skills - the role is client facing and communication at all levels is required

* Working understanding of welding theory and standard fabrication techniques
