Infrastructure Engineer

Salary up to £34472 pa Plus 10% on call allowance

37 hours per week, on call one week in three

This is an exciting opportunity to join our IT team providing a vital role in the management of College I.T.  The Infrastructure Engineer will monitor and guide every task that IT department employees engage in, from performing routine system updates to installing entirely new elements. You will also be expected to provide security and functionality of the entire IT infrastructure as well as plan and perform the design, installation, and connectivity of information systems and network infrastructure to ensure the continual operation of the College IT resources. You will also provide input into and support the College's IT strategy and supervise and train more junior members of the IT team in both day-to-day operations and project work.

You should have experience of supporting IT infrastructure in a large user-base environment and an excellent understanding of IT networking concepts. Together with an excellent knowledge of networking protocols and services such as TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP you will also have the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.  If you're not sure about applying because you don't know if you're qualified, we would really love you to apply anyway.
