We're looking for well-rounded product development engineer (or physicist) to join our team. You'll have a good first degree in Engineering, Physics or a related field, have demonstrable practical experience and be keen to take on plenty of variety! Who we are: We're a successful, fast-growing technology company based in South Oxfordshire that has brought a revolutionary new analytical instrument to market, the IRmadillo spectrometer. We are looking for a practically minded engineer or physicist to contribute to the design and manufacturing effort. About the Role We're constantly improving the performance of our IRmadillo spectrometer, expanding our markets and improving our manufacturing methods. You'll experience cutting edge agile management methods and learn about lean and 6-sigma manufacturing techniques alongside product design. You'll be working closely with a small team of other like-minded development engineers and physicists in material handling, design, optics, testing and deployment as well as interacting with members of the Applications, Production and Commercial Teams. Examples of the type of teamwork would include a selection of the following, (based on your talents & skills) + Designing and improving the product: mechanical design, optics
+ Testing firmware, electronics and software
+ Involvement in planning deliveries/installations to customers
+ Investigating and resolving customer support tickets
+ Troubleshooting The Perfect Candidate We're looking for someone who will fit into our agile team culture with a STEM-based passion. This may be found over a spectrum of experience levels, combination of skills and areas of interest. The ideal candidate will have the following profile (we are expecting you'll have most of the attributes, not necessarily all): +Right to work in the UK
+STEM background - general engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or similar
+ Likes to take things apart to find out how they work ...and likes to put things together and get them working!
+ Happy to get stuck in to troubleshooting and creative problem solving
+ Comfortable writing software code to make something happen e.g. Python for data analysis
+ Enjoy genuine teamwork, helping others to get the team's work done together
+ Familiar with Solidworks CAD (or eager to learn!)
+Excited about being part of a growing company in the design of an innovative technology
+Comfortable engaging with customers and vendors
