This role sits within the Programme Management Office for the Commercial & Contract Management Capability Programme and the post holder will collaborate and partner with colleagues across the business and with external stakeholders to ensure effective programme and project delivery.Client DetailsOne of the highest priorities for the Civil Service is improving commercial capability across Government, a priority being driven by the Commercial & Contract Management Capability Programme. Annual central government commercial spend on goods and services is c.£50bn and if you include the wider public sector this figure is almost £300bn - even the smallest improvements in capability can unlock massive value across the system.Description· Partner with GCF Capability Teams to provide best-practice portfolio, programme and project delivery to achieve better business outcomes· Develop, maintain and assure programme/project delivery plans and key deliverables· Drive, monitor and manage programme/project delivery - ensuring key milestones are met and benefits realisation· Provide practical and professional programme and project management advice and support to work-stream managers· Manage Risk, Assumption, Issue and Dependency logs, escalating risks/issues as required· Provide effective programme reporting capability and advice to senior stakeholders and management, drawing on diverse data sets· Help ensure effective budget and resource management where required· Work with and deputise for the Head of PMO to ensure effective management across the PMO· Collaborate with internal teams to design, develop and implement digital and other projects· Scope project requirements and prepare budget while working alongside technical teams to specify and document new functional and technical solutionProfileEssential- Proven project leadership capabilities, with significant programme and project management experience (scoping, planning and execution)- Risk, Assumption, Issue and Dependency management- Skills in matrix-managing multi-disciplinary teams and managing conflicts- Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills - confident, engaging and credible around senior officials- Confident working with and managing data, plus able to explain complex data/information simply and to identify emerging issues- Strong IT skills, with experience of presenting, and using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and/or industry equivalentsDesirable· Experience in change and transition management· Proven experience as a project, programme, and / or portfolio manager· A recognised PPM qualification (e.g. MSP, MoP, PRINCE2)· Proven experience using agile methodologies· Hands-on experience of web projects and digital implementation methodologies· Familiarity with Content Management systems and HTML/CSS· Knowledge of the Adobe Creative SuiteJob Offer* Learning and development tailored to your role.
