Global Head of IT Networks & ConnectivityLocation:Coventry, West MidlandsPay rate: £525 a day PAYE
Purpose:Our client is looking for an exceptional Global Head of IT Networks & Connectivity. You will be accountable for all enterprise network LAN/WAN/WiFi/Telephony both software (SDN) and hardware defined, monitoring, maintenance, scheduling of project and core support activities.This is an exciting new role being created to take ownership of the global infrastructure and build a world class team. This will be a challenging but varied role that will require you to use your tenacity, technical expertise and knowledge to balance strategic solution decisions with day to day operations, you will need to be a leader with experience managing international teams, be a mentor and escalation route for operational and project and issues.You will provide input into the technical direction of the group working with Service Delivery, Enterprise Architects and Solutions Designers, manage a budget to provide projects, equipment refresh and day to day purchases.Specific responsibilities:Be responsible for maintaining and proactively managing the global portfolio of end user compute solutionsLead, build and mentor a global team of Network and Connectivity engineersEnsure robust procedures and practices are developed and maintained driving a culture of service excellenceTake responsibility for patching and updates to ensure alignment to security governanceDevelop and manage service delivery, working with all teams across MIS to maintain customer satisfactionWork with VP, Global It Infrastructure & Operations to develop relationships with internal stakeholdersTake ownership of the Network & Connectivity strategy, working closely with the Service Delivery, Enterprise Architecture and Solutions Design teams to create, align and execute for:LAN/WAN/WiFi Switching and routing in an MPLS environmentCisco ISE and NACGlobal Monitoring and AlertingSoftware/Hardware Defined NetworkingNetwork & Connectivity Business Continuity and Disaster RecoveryDay to day and Datacentre operations in the Connectivity streamGlobal Network Device obsolesce, patching and securityKey skills and competencies required:Broad experience in technical roles working with enterprise technologies Cisco, HP, VMwareDemonstrate awareness of both on-premises and cloud-based connectivity (SDWAN) architecturesA relationship builder with outstanding communication skills and the ability to listen.ITIL qualified or experience gained from managing in an IT service management environmentTactical experience working closely with IT service operations in a demanding environmentDemonstrable experience dealing with hardware/software at the technology decision-making levelProven experience of networking including knowledge of LAN/WAN, Firewalls/Switches and Enterprise infrastructure environments including SD WAN and network securityDemonstrable experience of working with Managed Service Providers including service transition between suppliersAbility to work independently and prioritise duties with minimal supervision, in order to meet deadlinesTechnical team leadership and guidanceProficient in Project Management tools (i.e., MS Project) or similar project tool (s)Exemplary skills in leading people with an ability to coach and to motivate.Ability to gather data, to compile information, and prepare reportsGood/Strong/Excellence verbal and written communication skillsAbility to influence stakeholdersWell-organise, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-taskAbility to influence and engage across all levels of the organisation; a credible thinker and doer.Degree qualified or equivalent industry experience/certificationsDesirable skills:International aerospace and defence experience (preferable)
