About the role

The National Archives has long history of delivering high quality, ambitious and user-friendly digital services to diverse audiences. We want to be at the forefront of creating innovative ways for our users to access culture and heritage. This is a key element of our ambitious vision to transform our services, ensure the public record thrives and survives, and open up access to 900 years of British history.

Our growing Digital Services team now seeks a Product Manager as we expand our product teams to deliver quality services for our millions of users. We are expanding our Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) capability to help us transform the way we offer services to our users.

You will be working within a creative, motivated and supportive multi-disciplinary product team formed of delivery, design, development, UX, metrics and data specialists, as well as external suppliers, product depending. You'll hold responsibility for leading and shaping the direction of products and for delivering maximum value to users. Being a highly motivated individual, you will drive products forward and demonstrate how you manage goals and balance priorities whilst continuously assessing and managing product backlog effectively to ensure iterative delivery of high-quality products at pace.

About you

We are an equal opportunities employer, welcoming applications from all sections of the community and from people of diverse ages, experience and backgrounds, including people with disabilities. We are keen to explore the widest possible pool of talent for all our roles.

An experienced product manager with a strong track record, you will be adept at framing complex problems, defining goals and balancing multiple priorities. As an excellent communicator, you will be able to see and communicate the wider impact of your work while also being able to get into the detail to make things happen when needed. You will be comfortable working in a continuous learning environment, and at ease when dealing with ambiguity and change.
