DescriptionData Engineer - Liverpool - SQL, Database ManagementIn this role you would be part of a team responsible for managing the data estate, ensuring that data remains confidential, integral and available, and relevant to business requirements.This role will monitor all data flows and the use/re-use of data across the organisation to ensure that systems, business analytics and business intelligence are appropriate supported.This role will manage data bases to ensure they remain secure, preventing unauthorised access, data exchange and data loss. This role will engage with users, supporting their needs and ensuring that a high quality customer-focused service is delivered.Key Responsibilities* Deputise for the Senior Data Engineer

* Support the planning, budgeting and accounting for all Data Engineering work

* Support the Senior Data Engineer and Data Architect in designing and implementing a Data Strategy and data architectures to deliver business priorities and objectives

* Support the development and implementation of data governance

* Continuously monitor databases and applications ensuring applications remain available, perform to SLAs/OLAs, and delivering a good user and customer experience

* Proactively identify and resolve databases issues before they impact the user/customerProfileThe successful candidate will need to be a highly technical, data driven Engineer who can demonstrate the following skills/experience:Essential skills and experience* Experience with SQL

* Experience of monitoring databases and delivering database support services

* Experience of recommending and implementing changes to databases to improve performance

* Experience of delivering Information Systems development projects

* Excellent oral and written communications

* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft OfficeDesirable skills and experience* Experience with Oracle, Ingres and Agresso

* At least one development language from X++, C#, Java, Python, PowerShell, .Net

* Experience with ODS, ADS, Data Marts, Data Warehouses and Data Lakes

* Experience with relational, Hadoop and OLAP database engines
