Quality Engineer - Meggitt

6 month contract

£26 per hour PAYE

About the role:

My client is currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer to join their Coventry site. This position has a responsibility for product quality from the supply chain through to the delivered parts at the customer base. The role will support the programme of product conformance is executed and improvements reported and realised.

Main responsibilities:

LeadershipLead initiatives that improve product & processes throughout the area of responsibilityProvision of quality guidance to the value stream on matters relating to product assurance and qualityDemonstrates leadership behaviours in line with MeggittHigh Performance Culture

StrategySupports the Quality Engineering Manager& Value stream manager in the deployment of short, medium and long term objectives with respect to product assurance and quality.Drives the deployed leading indicators within the function and value stream and in supports other functions as appropriate.

RCCA - 8D: Leading RCCA events following an 8D methodology

FMEA:Leading FMEA activities within the assigned value streamDriving the use of FMEA during the RCCA events to reduce risk of process variation

AuditingQualified to lead audits to the AS9100 standard.Plan, Execute all audits assigned, internal or supplier basedProactively assess supplier performance - Auditing is a tool that is an optionsupport the areas / departments in the closure of all NCR's raised to the timescales required by the site BMS

Quality ClinicsDrive robust quality clinics within the assigned value streamSupport Quality Clinics and assist in Material Review Board (MRB) dispositions.Drive the QC maturity assessmentOwnership of actions

Data collectionCollates and analyses Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data.Using variable and attribute data extracted from the various data sources to, assess, analyse and validate the process under evaluation, to drive repeatability and predictability.Leads collection of data from various data sources as an input into DLA, CAB (Corrective action board) and Management reviews.Management of monthly scorecards (Customer / Internal / Supplier), to ensure that the scorecard is reflects the true position

FAI / LAISupport the creation, storage and management of site, supplier & customer first article (FAIR) and PPAP documentation.Manage / conduct activities in support of New Product Introduction (NPI) these include First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR's) and quality related PAPP elements.Meggitt Production System (MPS): For the areas of responsibility drive the robust use of the MPS toolkit that is applicable

FunctionResponsible for managing collation of data key site metrics, & reporting them to the Quality Engineering Manager & the assigned value stream leaderResponsible for the cross training of other quality engineers, and other staff members of quality toolsSupport daily DLA with functional team members and within the assigned value stream.Present findings of quality investigations in a clear and concise manner

CustomerProvides to the external customers an interface that robustly supports customer needs, and acts as the First point of contact on all customer issuesEnsuring All returns are managed to customer expectationTo act as the voice of the customer into the site, also being the face of Meggitt to the customer interfaceProvides to the internal customers an interface that robustly supports customer needsDrives the 'zero defect' tool kit across all customer events

Supply ChainProvides to the external supply base an interface that robustly supports Meggitt & supplier needsFirst point of contact on all supplier issues from internal discovery, and from the supply baseWork with suppliers to develop robust process in line with the defined quality engineer toolsDrives the 'zero defect' tool kit across all supplier events

InternalDriving a RFT programme across the facility that drives improvement across all processes within the assigned value stream ensuring processes are repeatable and predictableLiaise with internal function typically Manufacturing & Design engineering, operations to support fully compliant processes to produce product 'right first time, every time'
