Our client is a fast growing digital health and medical device company impacting patient outcomes and part of a global medical devices business. The company work in innovative healthcare verticals including remote monitoring, wearables, robotics, AR/VR, telemedicine, and much more. As the Technical Sourcing Specialist you will partner with Research and Development (R&D), Operations and Quality and be the main point of contact with suppliers for Technology and New Product Development (NPD) Project Teams. You will manage supplier interactions by:Lead software supplier selection and licensing negotiations.Supplier Evaluation, Selection, Negotiation, Development, Qualification, and Product LaunchSourcing risks early in the development cycle to drive mitigating designs and or focused Supplier Development. Documenting & managing overall Project Sourcing StrategiesReport out at each progressive NPD Phase Gate.Track and manage supplied component Quality, Supply Risk, Material Cost, Response / Lead Time, & Technology advancement for the full Device Bill of Material, (for both the new and legacy components).Manage and coordinate all Sourcing Project Deliverables.SourcingLead supplier evaluation, selection, development, qualification, and product launch ramp-upThe Sourcing Specialist will recommend standard costs for new components and assemblies (Cost modelling and Make vs. Buy analysis).Be knowledgeable of Category Strategies to ensure Supplier Technology Roadmaps are integrated into Product Develop.The Senior Sourcing Specialist will identify potential new sources in Technologies where Category Strategies do not yet exist.Provide input to technology and development core teams with recommendations affecting Design for Reliability & Manufacturability (DRM) and supplier selection decisions Technology Road-mapping: Periodically review Product Plans and Technology initiatives to provide early communication for Category Management for Supplier Identification & Capability development.Participate in the Capital Expense Request (CER) process, specifying costs for capital investment with consideration to product standard cost targets and capacity demandsContracts & Negotiations:Provide front line negotiation with knowledge of category strategies and an ability to influence design/technology/source decisions.Supplier Performance ManagementMonitors overall key performance indicators/metrics for suppliers (TTL / TTM / Part Documentation/Quality/COGS). This will be completed per Design for Reliability & Manufacturability (DRM) framework in strong alignment and coordination with R&D and Supplier Quality Develop technical solutions to problems using corrective/preventative action processes such as DMAIC and Lean Six Sigma.Supply Risk ManagementExecute Supplier Process Assessments to identify risk to the business and work proactively to mitigate that risk to drive mitigating designs and/ or focused Supplier Development.
