Job Title: ICT Infrastructure EngineerLocation: Felixstowe, SuffolkSalary: £24,982 to £35,745 per annum, plus 7% shift allowanceJob Type: Full Time, PermanentHours: Rotational shift pattern between 8am to 8pm - Participation in an out of hours standby service is part of the rolePort Health's mission is the protection of public and animal health, carrying out a range of checks to ensure imported goods are safe for all of us in the UK.The RolePort Health's ICT team are crucial to supporting these operations, both internally by providing IT services and support to staff at Suffolk Coastal Port Health Authority (SCPHA), and in supporting external users of SCPHA's applications.We are seeking an ICT Infrastructure Engineer to focus on development and specialist technical support of the core ICT infrastructure and associated systems required to deliver ICT services.Key Duties:Be required to take the lead in infrastructure projects, including technical advice, design, implementation, and upgrades of SCPHA's IT infrastructure.Manage all routine and operational works required to ensure ICT infrastructure and associated systems are managed, configured, and optimised to deliver the required performance, quality, security, and availability.Have key responsibility for the protection of ICT infrastructure/data/systems from cyber threats and breaches.Prepare and maintain technical and user documentation including policies, service designs, operational procedures and processes which ensure the effective operation, support, and development of the ICT infrastructure.Please note, this is a career graded post and salary progression is subject to specified qualifications, experience, competency, and the needs of the business.About you:Experience in the design, implementation, security and operation of industry standard server, storage, and networking technologies.NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent) in a computing related field and experience in the design, implementation, security and operation of industry standard server, storage, and networking technologies.A passion for ICT with an inquisitive nature, alongside a proactive and planned approach to ensure the ICT infrastructure enables SCPHA and its customers to work to optimum effect.Design, engineering, and operations of Microsoft server related components including but not limited to Exchange Messaging, Office 365, Microsoft OS, Active Directory (essential).A willingness to learn, and fully contribute to a small dynamic ICT team.Effective diagnostic, fault finding and monitoring skills.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, able to establish and develop positive relationships with officers, councillors, partners, and suppliers.The Benefits: Opportunities for training and development to enable you to build a great career with our organisation.
