DevOps Engineers within UKHO play a critical role in enabling delivery teams to provide world leading products and services. We are now seeking two Senior DevOps Engineers to share their practitioner level expertise in either infrastructure or development.

About the UKHO

UKHO is an executive agency, sponsored by the Ministry of Defence. We work with a wide range of data suppliers and partners, surveying and charting the world's oceans in order to develop and serve world leading software and data solutions to commercial shipping companies, navies and maritime organisations. Our products ensure safe navigation and global trade efficiency and support other marine activities including economic development, environmental protection, resource exploration and utilisation, scientific research and security and defence.

The role

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be a key member of the Digital Delivery Capability Team supporting the delivery of digital services. You will provide assistance and guidance on processes and best practices, as well as researching new technologies as a subject matter expert to enable delivery teams to be more effective and provide a better service to customers.

In addition to using your deep technical knowledge, providing support to delivery teams and solving complex problems, you will provide coaching and mentoring to more junior colleagues and participate in the sharing of knowledge and good practice.

What we are looking for

The successful candidate must be practitioner level in either infrastructure or development with skills across wide ranging technologies such as Windows/Linux operating systems, networking, programming/scripting languages, CI/CD and cloud technologies.

In return

UKHO is a great place in which to explore your career potential. While our projects are career-defining, the work/life balance that we can offer you is equally exceptional. From flexitime, flexible working, an award-winning office environment and a generous annual leave allowance of 34.5 days including public holidays, the opportunities open to you here are hard to beat.

We offer a great work / life balance. Peoples' start and end times are built around their own. We're all set up for working from home and encourage people to make use of this if they prefer. We are committed to providing part time options and reasonable accommodations and will work with you to meet your needs.
