Design Engineer (Utility-Scale Solar)

Remote working (occasional travel to London office)

£35'000 - £40'000 DOE + Annual Bonus + Pension + Holidays

Excellent opportunity for a Solar Design Engineer with experience working on ground mount projects to join a well-established renewable energy developer in a pivotal role that will enable you to develop your skills and build a long-term career.

This industry leading company specialise in the development of large scale solar PV projects across the UK. They have an impressive and continually growing pipeline of projects, and as a result they now wish to expand their passionate team of of design engineers to facilitate future growth and success.

In this role, the Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, estimation and cost analysis of utility-scale solar PV projects across the UK. You will work alongside the land team to identify new site opportunities and carry out yield assessments, use PVSyst and PVCase to design megawatt scale Solar PV systems, assist in completing grid connection applications and act as technical support to the team for design queries.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience of designing large-scale ground mount solar PV projects and must have commercial awareness to ensure project optimisation.

The Role:

*Responsible for the design, estimation and costing of utility-scale solar projects

*Identify new site opportunities alongside land team and see through to active project

*Carry out yield assessment to determine feasibility of potential sites

*Work alongside grid team to complete grid connection applications

*Remote and office based working

The Person:

*Degree qualified in engineering discipline

*Must have experience designing ground mount systems

*Experience using AutoCAD, PVCase and PVSyst

*Must have commercial awareness of solar projects to ensure project optimisation

*Full UK Driving License
