 About the role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our small communications, digital services and engagement team and play a pivotal role in ensure the council's website, intranet and app are accessible and engaging.  You will work closely with our services, web authors and ICT provider to design, publish, maintain and advise on web, intranet and app content which optimises our digital platforms and provides opportunities for marketing, income generation and revenue savings. You will manage the website, intranet and app structure and monitor, analyse and react to online statistics and feedback to ensure up-to-date and engaging content.  You will also support the transformation of council services to online access.

About you

With a degree in IT, web design or digital media or equivalent experience in a related field, you will also have previous experience of HTML, .NET, and XML and building, managing, developing and maintaining a large website in a content management environment.  You will also have more than a working knowledge of: website accessibility standards (W3C WAI) and design best practice; and relevant applications such as Dreamweaver, Paint Shop Pro / Photoshop, Acrobat, Flash, and Javascript.   Used to operating in a project management environment, you'll also have work based experience of using digital / social media platforms to maximise engagement and in developing and producing audio / video / photographic and digital content.

Your excellent written, oral and aural communication skills will enable you to build rapport quickly with key stakeholders and to deliver training to web authors and others.
