We are seeking an experienced IT professional to join our Information Management and Technology (IMT) Directorate and provide Service Desk support to users across the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG).

About the role

 This is an instrumental role, in which you will ensure the smooth day to day running of the College's network and services, by prioritising data protection and security and monitoring any risk posed to our IT infrastructure. Reporting to the Head of Technical Support, you will be proactive in identifying faults to the network and will provide hardware and software troubleshooting across the RCOG and in remote locations.

A customer-focused individual, you will provide first and second line support for all network devices and applications as well as overseeing calls made to the IMT Service Desk. You will also be responsible for delivering basic system administration to the College and configuring PCs for internal and external events. 

 About you

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Demonstrable experience in an IT support role within a Microsoft Windows based environment
  • Experience in a customer facing role
  • Strong IT skills and familiarity with a range of PC Windows based IT systems and software within a medium-sized business environment
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure and general troubleshooting (IP based networking)
  • Knowledge of LAN and WAN
