Use your skills to support policing in London

Data is playing an ever-greater role in policing, shaping crucial decisions. As a Data Analyst, you'll give us the insight we need deal with the complex challenges that come with protecting London.

 A focal point for both strategic and tactical data analysis, you'll work with talented colleagues to deliver high quality insight. Together, you'll provide an effective business intelligence service that will highlight risks, steer organisational direction, inform decision-making and offer assurance.

As well as analysing diverse datasets and information, you'll help to automate performance information, develop analytical processes and support our approach to evidence-based policing. This decides how policing should operate in the future, which means you'll be helping to shape tomorrow's Met.

However, this role is about connecting stakeholders across the organisation, as well as dealing with stats and figures. You'll provide support for senior and front line officers, helping them make decisions.

Exceptional analytical skills are essential, along with knowledge of Excel, Business Objects.  You'll have gained your expertise working in statistical, quantitative and/or qualitative analysis, social science, business management, risk management, assurance or a similar area.

You'll also need the ability to work with a range of contacts and ask probing questions to challenge orthodox thinking. That calls for excellent communication skills and a gift for building powerful and valid arguments. Resilient and pragmatic, you'll explain complex issues to non-experts and suggest ways to tackle risk.
