We are looking for an experienced Node.js Developer for a 6 month remote, home-based contract assignment, with some very occasional visits to the office, located in Exeter, Devon (Outside IR35). You will be responsible for managing the delivery of a defined feature, including the user interface, and all API aspects.Working within our clients features team you will be delivering a solution of for a key client - this is a very fast-paced development environment that will require excellent specialist knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript and Node.js, along with the ability to maintain excellent lines of communication between all team members.Key Deliverables: Development of all API server-side logic.Ensuring high performance and responsiveness of requests to and from the frontend.Integrating the frontend elements into the application.Key Skills:Very good understanding of Node.js and the most common packages in the ecosystem.Have a deep understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript.Confident with asynchronous programming concepts and how to use them pragmatically from JavaScript/TypeScript.Knowledge of server-side templating languages.Familiarity with HTML5 and CSS3.Knowledge of CSS pre-processors.Working knowledge of Node.js package management and the tools ecosystem.Ability to model and apply authorization and permission control between users, systems, and services.Knowledge of how to incorporate different data sources and databases and how to deliver optimal output to different client platforms (mobile vs desktop).Familiarity with how to create scalable Node.js applications.Understanding of automated unit tests and testing platforms and how to implement and integrate them.Some experience with AWS or Cloud experience.Thorough knowledge of code version tools such as Git.
