Don't just deliver projects.
Deliver peace of mind.
Often in the public eye, the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) is an evolving public corporation. Essentially, we're responsible for shaping and delivering the regulation of nuclear safety and security across the UK. With such a critical job, we need to be at our best. As a Project Manager, you'll help to deliver vital projects within our PMO function.
Our Programme Management Office oversees a wide range of exciting initiatives, from IT and cyber resilience projects, to HR and regulatory improvements. As a Project Manager, you'll be at the heart of this work, delivering each project to agreed deadlines, costs and standards. You'll work on projects of moderate complexity, but also support Senior Project managers with more complex initiatives. That means working closely with stakeholders as well as a capable team.
With efficient documentation and clear communication, you'll lead projects day to day, monitoring progress, risks and issues. At the same time, you'll help us improve the way we work wherever you can. It's a role where you'll have the power to make ONR an even better regulator, protecting society every day by securing safe nuclear operations.
A capable Project Manager, you bring proven experience and knowledge of change management. In the past, you've delivered concrete benefits and positive outcomes, drawing on a Practitioner-level project Management qualification (for example PRINCE2). Thanks to this background, you'll be familiar with relevant methods and tools, and adept at analysing baseline information. And crucially, you'll be a people person - someone who listens, engages and influences. This is important because you'll need to build relationships across ONR and work with the wider team. Blending expertise and interpersonal skills, you'll bring all kinds of projects to a successful conclusion.
We offer competitive salaries at the ONR, with this role attracting a salary of £39,392 - £47,632. Furthermore, you'll be eligible for a substantial Civil Service Pension scheme (including ill-health retirement and lump sum family benefits). Plus, you'll receive a generous holiday entitlement.
ONR is a Public Corporation with a Mission to protect society by securing safe nuclear operations. Our staff are drawn from a wide range of professional backgrounds with specialist inspectors to deliver our core business including civil engineering, radiological protection, human factors, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering and nuclear physics. And together they're involved in everything from assessing safety cases, inspecting nuclear sites, communicating our decisions, training new recruits and representing the UK and ONR within the wider international nuclear community.
