Central to our decision-making capabilities is accurate and timely data. We are constantly enhancing our use of data and integration with other sources of information to improve our business processes and updating the technologies we use, utilising the functionality of the latest Microsoft Azure technologies. As a Senior Data Engineer you will be experienced in developing innovative ways of collecting, processing and presenting data. Using Ofqual's data management technologies, you will contribute to the design and development of data streaming systems, ensuring processes perform optimally, and that they underpin Ofqual's BI framework and operating model. In this role you will be part of the team responsible for expanding our data platform and data collection capabilities, including using the latest technologies in Microsoft Azure such as Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks. As a member of the Data Team you will be involved in all aspects of this process including designing and building data collections and validation, ETL, tabular models and producing reports and dashboards in Power BI. This is an exciting opportunity to broaden your skills and work as part of a small expert team. You will be able to discuss ideas with your colleagues and try new technologies and features in Microsoft Azure. Skills required Proven experience in T-SQL, analytical technologies, data visualisation Knowledge and experience of data modelling Expert analytical and problem-solving capabilities Experience of working with stakeholders at all levels Ofqual is a rewarding, dynamic place to work.
