As IT Support Technician, you will be providing support to the business across 1st/2nd line, whilst developing an understanding of IT requirements of the business to act accordingly to ensure these requirements are met in a timely and structured way, following escalation processes to ensure a consistent and professional service. Client DetailsMichael Page Technology are delighted to be supporting a UK manufacturing business with the recruitment of an IT Support Engineer.DescriptionWhat you'll be doing?As IT Support Technician, you must be able to understand the IT requirements of the business and act accordingly to ensure these requirements are met in a timely and structured way, following escalation processes to ensure a consistent and professional service. Issues will be raised either by telephone, email or in person. All issues will be logged and assigned a priority. Where possible issues will be resolved during first contact. Take the lead in receiving, logging and prioritising issues by telephone, email or in person whilst escalating issues that cannot be resolved within the defined timescale/SLA.Responsibilities:Install, support, upgrade, replace, and remediate all IT hardware along manufacturing lines.Quickly respond to requests and incidents from our customers.Troubleshoot Hardware, Operating System and software issues.Troubleshoot Network issues from the client up to the switch and Datacentre.Interface with the various manufacturing groups to understand issues.Configure new starter setup, account, hardware, and software configuration.Ensure asset register is current and up to date.Update knowledge management system with relevant tips and guides.Manage end user administration such as joiners and leavers.Set up Teams/Zoom calls, conference facilities, webinars and other AV equipment as required.Primary responsibility is to keep manufacturing lines running.ProfileKey Skills & Experience:Minimum of 3 years' experience within a desktop support or system admin role.Technical expertise within Microsoft Server related technologies (Windows Server 2012/2016/2019).Experience troubleshooting hardware issues and replacing hardware on Windows machines.Experience troubleshooting printings, barcode scanners, Wi-Fi Access points.Experience troubleshooting basic client-side network problems.Experience of Active Directory including Directory Services, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy.Experience managing virtual infrastructures (Hyper-V).Experienced of O365 Administration including SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams environments.Good understanding of IT Security concepts.Highly motivated; willing to continually update knowledge and skill sets.Ability to perform well under pressure and use initiative.Ability to identify business impacting incidents and escalate according to the escalation process.Desirable:Experience of Thin Client environments a plus.Experience of EFACS / ERP - MRP systems a plusLinux support experience a plus.SCCM and SCOM experience a plus.WatchGuard VPN systems a plus.Job OfferSalary:£25,000 - £30,000 per annumAdditional:Flexible working
