Technical Lead / Designer ****Outside IR35****

Work collaboratively to investigate and carry out technical spikes in relation to the re-use of Expert UI capabilities and the associated implications of Javascript technologies being used or constrained in public facing digital services.

In general, the Technical Lead/Designer will:

Provide hands-on software development guidance to investigate the technical spikes with the developer: coordinate and collaborate with team to design, create and improve software products whilst helping to solve technical issues arising through development

*Lead all activities undertaken by the developer and any subsequent developers joining the team

*Remove blockers for the team and deliver working software in line with business direction

*Support Product Owner in managing customer expectations for project deliverables, and helping to implement an effective system of project governance

*Ensure and support programme standards such as continuous integration, automated testing, code quality to adhere to

Key technologies in use are:

*Frontend Angular components:

*HTML5, CSS 3, SASS, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular 6+

*Frontend test frameworks (Jasmine, Karma, Protractor)

*git or other modern distributed version control system, github

*creating and consuming RESTful endpoints

*Expert UI developers will also have experience of some of the following:

*Agile development using Scrum

*NgRx/flux

*Azure cloud development, or cloud development on another major public cloud provider

*DevOps for Azure cloud deployed applications

*backend development in node.js

*backend development using Java/Spring

*Jira and Confluence

*Contract testing with Pact

*Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines.

Due to the nature and urgency of this post, candidates holding or who have held high level security clearance in the past are most welcome to apply. Please note successful applicants will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment which can take up to a minimum 10 weeks.
